6 Great Healthy Snacks for the School Day

Lets face it, all kids get hungry and instead of them raiding vending machines or candy closets in the schools, here are some great healthy snacks to send him them to keep them eating right!

1. Sweet Potato Chips – Easy to bake on your own and they taste great.  Sweet potato chips are not only delicious but are great sources of vitamins.  Make them once and your kids will fall in love!

2. Cheese Sticks – Available at every grocery store.  A cheese stack can be a great and affordable way for the kids to stay full and healthy.

3. Fruit Salad – Calling it a salad may not be the best way to excite the kids, but a small bowl of assorted fruit cuts is a great way to stay healthy, full and hydrated!

4. Ham and Cheese Rolls – A deliciously filing source of nutrition and protein.  Almost like a sandwich without the bread.  This easy to prepare creation is sure to be a hit.

5. Yogurt – Whether you get plain vanilla or filled with fruit.  This healthy alternative to ice cream is a great snack to get in the habit of having.

6. Cereal – With the calcium form milk and the grains form cereal.  A bowl of the right cereal will keep your kids full of energy and key nutrients for the hours to come.
