Halloween can be a very exciting time of year for kids in that trick-or-treating age range. Although you may be tempted to let the kids run wild and get that energy out, you may want to keep these tips in mind as the big day approaches.
1. Make sure they are Trick-or-treating in a safe neighborhood – Kids aren’t the only ones out and about on halloween and it is very important to make sure your kids are in a safe neighborhood with plenty of light.
2. Rehearse their Route – If your kids are trick-or-treating alone this year then it is very important to make sure they know exactly the route they are taking. Go over it with them a few days in advance to make sure no one gets lost!
3. Travel in Groups – On any given night you don’t want your kid to be traveling alone, but especially on Halloween it is very important to keep them in groups. Remember there is safety in numbers!
4. Ration their Candy – Once they come home with the loads of candy and sweets that they have collected, it is very important for the sake of your dental bills to make sure they don’t over consume it immediately. Trust us, you will thank us for this one later.
Keep these in mind as Halloween approaches!
