New Sports Seasons Safety Tips

As we begin to enter the Winter sports season and say goodbye the the Fall, parents and coaches alike should prepare their athletes accordingly based on the sport.  Here are some safety tips by Sport.

Basketball – Although it may take a moment to adjust to the feel, some sort of eye protection is recommended to protect the athlete from close encounters with other athletes.  You will see a few of these in the NBA and they are a great way to assure no issues arise.

Wrestling – One of the best safety tools for wrestlers is education.  All wrestlers should be properly educated on which moves are legal and safe and should always practice on a regulation mat.  This is the best way to avoid a severe injury.

Swimming/ Diving – Being a non contact sport you may think it is safer, however water involves a who new arena of risks.  Divers should be very careful to check the depth of the water they are diving into to avoid serious injury.
